Super Jardineros Coordinator

We will accomplish this by providing home garden supplies, monthly gardening workshops, mentorship, and garden visits to address the needs of food access and insecurity in the community.

Job Title: Super Jardineros Coordinator
Job Type: Full-time 40 hours per week

Essential job functions: With support from the Greenhouse and Super Jardineros Manager, facilitates Super Jardineros workshops and activities and provides support with sales and marketing.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
In collaboration with the Home Garden Manager, recruit new participants for the Super Jardineros Program.
Communicate via email, phone calls, text messages, or in person, on a monthly basis with Super Jardineros Program participants.
Schedule and facilitate workshops.
Schedule and conduct monthly check-ins, and quarterly garden visits with participants
Create and upload training videos to online learning platforms, as needed.
Coordinate the seedling production with Super Jardineros Manager following the planting schedule developed for all Valley Verde programs
Provide technical support for Super Jardineros (Planning, Best Practices, IPM, etc)
Coordinate distribution of growing supplies (growing medium, planters, trays, etc)
In collaboration with the Greenhouse Manager, track and input program data.
Evaluate quality seedlings and coordinate sales
Provide support with seedling sales (online and in person), subscriptions, and marketing material.
Create Social Media content for the Super Jardineros Program.
Other duties as assigned by the Greenhouse Manager
Professional written and verbal skills in Spanish or Vietnamese required.
Knowledge of greenhouse growing techniques of organic vegetables.
Must have regular/reliable access to a vehicle with appropriate insurance for transportation.
Must be detail oriented and accurately report program attendance and other participant statistics.
Experience working in a multiethnic community environment and having multicultural literacy.
Ability to develop professional relationships with program participants regardless of language barriers, cultural differences, or physical/mental abilities.
Must be extremely organized and have the ability to prioritize projects to meet deadlines
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team, show creativity, and ability to initiate and complete projects with limited supervision
At least 2 years of teaching or group facilitation required
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, Mailchimp, Google Classroom, Zoom, Google Meet, YouTube, editing videos software, and Canva.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift 30-50 lbs, bend, and twist to complete garden projects and activities.
Experience operating power tools, building, and assembling irrigation systems is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in Education or Horticultural strongly preferred.
Master Gardener’s certification is strongly preferred.
Other related coursework or experience can be substituted.
