Peking Ta Ching Kou Pai Tsai is a choy sum (Chinese flowering cabbage) variety that is perfect for stir- fries. It produces dark green, tender, glossy leaves with purple midribs and long, dark-purple stems, and is similar to kale. The leaves having a slight brassica flavor. 

Is non-heading and leaves have an open growth habit.

Grows best in fall or early spring. Mature at 40-45 days.

  • Planting: plant seedlings 12-18 inches apart, or 6-8 inches apart in rows spaced 12-18 inches apart. Plant in a location that recieves full sun to partial shade, in well-draining soil rich in organic matter (amend soil with high-quality compost and/or worm castings if soil needs more nutrients). Enjoys a soil pH range of 6.0 to 6.8.

    Watering: keep soil evenly moist as too much water could cause root rot and too little could stunt growth. Avoid wetting the leaves when watering as this could cause fungal diseases.

    Harvest: harvest the individual leaves or whole plant by using a sharp knife or clippers.
