A great variety of mild pepper, King of the North produces uniform red peppers great for stuffing, slicing, roasting, stir-frying, and grilling as you please. Does well even in places with cooler summer temperatures, but does enjoy full sun and summer heat when available.
Pepper - King of the North
- Planting: Peppers prefer direct sunlight, and moist, fertile and well-drained soil. Allow 18 to 24 inches between plants. Mulching between plants is useful to keep soil moisture and control weeds.
Watering: Water regulary, but avoid creating a soggy environment.
Harvesting: it is recommended to pinch the plant in order to encourage branching, and to pinch off the first few blooms to stimulate more prolific fruiting. Harvest early and often, when the peppers are still green or when they turn red for the most developed flavor and sweetness.
