About the Event
Food insecurity in the Bay Area was increasing even before the major recent cuts to food assistance programs. What can we do to address this escalating problem that is so devastating to affected households? The workshop will start with an update on the state of food insecurity in the Bay. Hunger at Home's ED, Ewell Sterner, will follow by sharing his organization's efforts to address the problem. We'll then open up the floor for a discussion on what we can do together to fight food insecurity. While you’re here, help us refurbish old wooden signs for use in a new community garden in Gilroy!
1-2 pm (Volunteer activity) Refurbishing old wooden signs
