About the Event
Valley Verde is offering a series of free beekeeping Community Workshops! You are not required to attend any of the workshops (for example, you do not have to attend the intro workshop to attend the later ones) and can choose whichever ones you are available for! These workshops are available in Spanish and English!
Today, we will continue with Workshop #2 which will be In-Person. We'll go over:
- The parts of the hive
- Types of beekeeper tools
- How to open a hive and do a basic inspection
- Basic guidelines for how to be a good beekeeper!
Here is the workshop schedule:
- Aug. 3: "Introduction to bees and beekeeping / Introducción a las abejas y la apicultura" (Online)
- Sept. 7: "Introduction to beekeeping - hands on / Introducción a la apicultura: práctica" (In-person)
- Oct. 5: "Swarms / Enjambres" (Online)
- Nov. 2: "Honey harvest - hands on / Cosecha de miel: práctica " (In-person)
- Jan. 4: "Beehive Maintenance / Mantenimiento de la colmena" (In-person) 12pm
- Feb. 1: "Troubleshooting / Solución de problemas" (In person)
